NOTE:  In prosecuting my case that the Sagan Signal is an alien Bible code, I’ve reached out, with mixed results, to a variety of scientifically credible individuals and organizations with a request to critically and skeptically engage the data and issue a public response. Not yet mentioned is the entity that, in the end, may matter the most: Jewish Bible scholars.

1.jpg

Known as “The people of the Book,” it was Jews who wrote and preserved the Old Testament. It’s their Holy Book. They know it like a family, through multiple generations, knows every square inch of the land they own and work on. I think everyone would agree that their position on the Sagan Signal needs to be known.

The question Molly and I address in this essay is: Is it logically possible that, over a 2500 year period, not a single Jewish Bible scholar found the Sagan Signal? Or, on a decidedly more conspiratorial note, is it more likely that Jewish scholars have known about it - and intentionally chosen not to make it public because it confirms fundamental truths that undermine the very foundations of their faith, namely the existence of a Divine Feminine and Jesus Christ being their ET Messiah, their Anointed One?

Just as absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, the non-existence of Jewish research regarding the Sagan Signal doesn’t mean that Jewish scholars haven’t engaged the data. It may be a reaction to the fact that they are well aware that they stand the most to lose if my interpretation of the data is correct. They knew that the Sagan Signal is not your run-of-the-mill and easily debunked Bible code claim, so the fact that Jewish scholars are being ultra-cautious and ultra-secretive may be more a testament to the gravity of the situation than an indication of non-interest.

Following are some of the rules Jewish scribes, in making copies of the Old Testament, had to adhere to: (From an essay by Floyd Nolan Jones Th.D., Ph.D.)

“An old rabbinical treatise called Sopherim (“Scribes”) is a detailed how-to-book that lists the many rules the Jewish scribes (Bible copyists) had to painstakingly follow.

For example, they had to use a special mixture of black ink. The transcription had to be done on the parchment made from a clean animal. The exact number of words and letters on each line had to match the original.

Every word and letter was counted. Each column had to have no fewer than 48 and no more than 60 lines. Scribes were not allowed to copy from memory nor could they copy sentence for sentence or even word for word. Scripture had to be copies letter for letter.

The work was inspected by at least three senior specialist scribes. If there was one omission or if two letters touched, the entire script was rejected.

Others involved width and height; exact spaces between letters, words, and pages and between numbers of columns and lines to the columns; and much more. The process was unscrupulously strict. Such was the standard to maintain the integrity of the copied work.”

In the light of such a ridiculously high level of scrutiny and attention to detail, it seems highly unlikely that, over 25 centuries, not a single Jewish scribe or scholar discovered the following:

There are a total of 54 instances in the Old Testament where grain, wine and oil words are in close proximity. 46 times the grain word appears first, the wine word second, and the oil word third, creating an 86% symmetry rating. The odds of this happening by chance are 1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!

To analogize, let’s say you have three dice, one where all six side have one dot, the second with all sides having two dots, and the third with all sides having three dots. Next, put them in a cup and shake them up. Then, without looking, pull each die out, one at a time, and record the results. Repeat this process 54 times. What are the odds that 46 of the 54 triadic sequences you have created are 1, 2, 3? This is the level of symmetry in the Sagan Signal! For a full mathematical analysis, check out The Rule Equation tab on the left of my home page.

The Old Testament, written over eight centuries by hundreds of individuals and groups living in different places and under different circumstances, is not a body of literature where one would expect to find this level of symmetry. Quite the opposite. Critics of the Old Testament routinely dismiss it as a hodge-podge collection of conflicting ideas, rules, and accounts that were more-or-less thrown together to create some semblance of a Holy Book.

Little wonder then, that, after 15 years of critical investigations by a variety of secular and religious skeptics, cryptographers, linguists and literary historians, no one has come close to explaining the triadic symmetry of the sequences as being anything other than what I claim: an encrypted code.

Which raises the question: Did ancient Jewish scholars know about the code and keep it secret?

I discovered the Sagan Signal in the mid-1970s while preparing a sermon for an upcoming communion service. An academically meticulous student of Scripture I am not, but the symmetry of the triadic sequences listed above couldn’t be ignored, it jumps off the pages. To think that I’m the first and only individual ever to have discovered these sequences is absurd, as is the notion that Jewish scribes, over thousands of years, failed to find something so patently obvious.

Captain Obvious

How obvious is the Sagan Signal? Consider one remarkable example from the Torah, in the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28, verses 38-40:

Verse 38: “You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather little in, for the locust shall consume it.”

Verse 39: “You shall plant vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.”

Verse 40: “You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off.”

This amazing passage contains three words from the grain genre (verse 38), three words from the wine genre (verse 39), and three words from the oil genre (verse 40). When aligned vertically, it creates the following symmetry:

1st words:  seed/vineyards/olive trees

2nd words: field/wine/oil

3rd words: gather (grain)/grapes/olives

Why did the author cite the three grain words first, the three wine words second, and the three oil words third? Had he placed them in some other order, would he have been violating some ancient literary rule? No! The fact that these three sequences are symmetrical to 43 other grain/wine/oil sequences is clearly a pattern, not a coincidence. It is prima facie evidence of an encrypted code.

Every expert who has weighed in on the evidence has concluded that these three sequences, along with 43 other similar constructions, are a code. There is no one openly disputing this basic observation – no one. Based on internal analytics there have been scores of Jewish scholars who have also reviewed my research, with not one of them challenging my claim that the Sagan Signal is a legitimate Bible code.

Now, another example:

4.jpg
The Inventory list

In another striking instance of the sequences being an encrypted code is found in several verses that are, in effect, inventories of commodities and livestock that are listed in no apparent order – with one exception: grain is always listed first, wine always listed second, and oil always listed third. Following is one example:

1 Chronicles 12:40:  “Moreover those who were near to them, from as far away as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bring food on donkeys and camels, on mules and oxen – provisions of flour and cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, wine and oil and oxen and sheep abundantly, for there was joy in Israel.”

Had the author listed the above items in some other order, no known religious laws or grammatical rules would have been violated. Against long odds, in this and in other inventory lists, the grain word always appears first, the wine word always appears second, and the oil word always appears third!

The bottom line is that if a schmuck like me was able to find the sequences, how hard would it have been for brilliant Jewish scholars 100% devoted to the study of the Old Testament and actively looking for evidence of God’s divine hand in its composition to find it? How could they have missed it - for over 25 centuries? It doesn’t compute!

Remember, the Sagan Signal wasn’t “created” via an algorithm, as has every Jewish Bible code theory advanced in the past (and there have been many). Pristine and original, the 46 sequences appear in the Old Testament as originally written, meaning that Jewish faithful across the theological spectrum have both the right and the responsibility to demand that their leaders give them an honest answer and a full accounting. Is the Sagan Signal an encrypted code?

If it is, why hasn’t it been declared? And, if it isn’t, why hasn’t it been debunked?

Allow me to answer my own questions. Call me a conspiracy nut if you want, but I believe ancient Jewish scholars were fully aware of the code. The Sagan Signal is the most remarkable linguistic feature in the entire Bible, leading me to think the safer assumption is that it was discovered early on. But, if that’s true, why didn’t Jewish leaders of the time announce their discovery?

I think Jewish scholars who first discovered the code had a full understanding of its implications, that it’s direct evidence that proves that the God of the Old Testament is a plurality of three Persons: a Father, a Mother, and a Son, a Nuclear Family - a claim at odds with bedrock beliefs held by both Jews and Christians.

Judaism is an ancient and worldwide religion. In many ways it’s more than just an institution, it’s a history, a culture and a mindset. It’s a way of living successfully in an all-too-often hostile world that has stood the test of time.

Unidentified Jewish leaders today who know about the Sagan Signal and follow this website understand what’s is at stake. They know that it identifies JC as the Messiah Singleton, and they know that if they were to publicly sign off on its veracity, all hell would break loose in Jewish communities in Israel, the United States, and around the globe.

Even while knowing that the Sagan Signal is what I claim, Jewish intellectuals have calculated that it’s better to ignore the data and act like it doesn’t exist, than to openly acknowledge the truth.

Jewish scholars, rather than following academic protocols and confirming my research, are doing what the theologians at Western Seminary are doing. They’ve gone into three-monkey mode. I don’t expect to hear from them any time soon.

In the early Middle Ages, Jewish Bible scholars in Israel who knew about the code had an option. Like a hot potato, there is credible evidence that they quietly passed knowledge of the code on to a select group of Christians, letting them deal with the consequences.

6.jpg
The Knights Templar

Sensing that they had uncovered a secret revelation from God, ancient Jewish scribes would have considered the possibility that grain, wine, and oil were symbols of three persons. Based on historical precedent, it would have been relatively easy for them to associate grain with a husband, wine with his wife, and oil with their anointed son. With further analysis, they would have arrived at the realization that the God of the Bible is Triune, a Nuclear Family.

But there was a problem: For them it was a truth that, if openly declared, would have gotten them condemned as heretics and stoned to death – by their own people! To save their skin they had no choice but to keep what they found a secret.

On the other hand, they knew that if they took this sacred secret to their graves and not passed it on, they would be judged harshly by the Person responsible for encrypting it into the Bible, i.e., God.

In the Middle Ages, the land of Palestine, as it is today, was holy to the world’s three major monotheistic religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Christianity is not only historically and theologically closer to Judaism than Islam, but during the Crusades, Christians stood side-by-side with Jews in fighting against Muslims for control of the region. If the secret of the code were to be passed from Jews to people of another faith, it would have been to Catholics.

The irony in all this is that the truth conveyed through the code regarding the nature and character of God would have been as unwelcome to the Pope and the Catholic hierarchy as it would have been to Jewish leaders. Christendom, to be sure, believed in the Trinity, but not THAT Trinity! Not a Trinity that included a Divine Feminine, and most certainly not a Trinity that confirms that Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are the same Person!

Historical evidence of a decidedly anecdotal nature suggests that at the time of the Crusades, late in the 11th century, certain Jewish scribes who knew about the Sagan Signal passed it on, either willingly or under duress, to Catholic militants known as Templars, who were in Palestine, partly to protect Christians making their sacred pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and partly to search for the Ark of the Covenant and other sacred relics.

Once they had knowledge of the code, the Templars, knowing that the Pope would go to any length to keep it from “going viral,” used it to blackmail the Church and enrich their organization – to the point where it became so wealthy and powerful that it was perceived as an existential threat by the Pope and his clerics.

Long story short, the Pope issued a decree that all Templars be rounded up and forced to either confess their sins and recant or be killed. Templar holdings were confiscated and those who survived the purge fled to Germany where they became Rosicrucians.

In Germany they also faced persecution, so some migrated to Scotland, where the secret of the Sagan Signal was shared with Francis Bacon, father of the scientific method. From Bacon, the secret of the code was passed on to Isaac Newton, who, as Lucasian head of The Royal Society, had the code written into Masonic liturgy, where it is preserved to this day in its most sacred ceremony: the Laying of the Cornerstone. (For more on this, check out the History tab on my home page).

Got all that? If not, don’t worry, I’ll dig deeper into it in future essays. What’s important is that the Sagan Signal is not a fabrication of the imagination. It’s real, testable, and verifiable evidence of the first order that demands a verdict.

At this point, the verdict that the Sagan Signal a code is in, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be reversed any time soon. The Sagan Signal confirms the existence of a Divine Feminine and Carl Sagan’s claim that JC is an ET. Why haven’t skeptics, academics and theologians debunked these claims? Why haven’t Jewish leaders exposed the code as fraudulent? The reality is that they’ve all tried and they’ve all failed. The Sagan Signal, by all accounts, is truth tested and truth confirmed. The code is real, as are the stunning revelations it conveys.

Why honorable individuals and groups who know the code is real and choose to keep their research secret is a study in how the power of institutional interests too often overwhelms intellectual integrity and common sense. I can’t condone it, but I can recognize and accept it as an existential reality, which is why my focus is directed more to individuals making private decisions than to groups that exist only to perpetuate their existence.

Don: Okay Molly, do you think there’s any chance that Jewish scribes, over twenty-five centuries, failed to discover the Sagan Signal?

Molly: Sure, there’s always a chance, but I think it’s extremely small. The assumption that they knew about it and kept it secret seems like the better bet.

Don: I agree. Do you also agree with me that the Jewish religion is incapable of absorbing the Sagan Signal?

Molly: It’s not just the Jews, I doubt think any religion has that ability. Let’s face it, it’s too radical. But I wonder about your speculation that the secret of the Sagan Signal was passed from Jewish scribes to the Templars to Isaac Newton and the Masonic Lodge. Sounds to me like you’ve been watching too many Indiana Jones reruns.

Don: I hear you, there’s a lot of nutty conspiracy theories floating around based on secret Bible codes. All I’m saying is that through all the chatter and bullshit, there may be a historical component at work. After all, we know the code has been scientifically tested and confirmed, so it’s a real thing, not a figment of some movie script writer’s imagination. Given that it’s the real thing, what would have kept Jewish scribes and mystics from secretly passing it on to individuals who they thought were honorable and might make good use of it?

Molly: I agree, it all makes sense, but you need evidence, good evidence, and a lot of it. And remember, it needs to be verifiable.

Don: Noted. I’ll get back to you.
